The invention relates to oral pharmaceutical compositions, produced with a suitable controlled-release formula, which contain propiverine, or one or more of its pharmaceutically acceptable salts in a quantity of between 4 and 60 mg propiverine and which exhibit an extended release of the active ingredient. Preferably, a mixture of active ingredient and optionally one or more acidic substances with a pka value of less than 6.65 is provided with a controlled-release coating or is embedded in a matrix and the latter is optionally coated with additional controlled-release layers.
