PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing bathochromic polyester textile is provided to have physical properties and bathochromic ability like polyester textile produced by a common method of alkali-treating it at high temperature. The method is also provided by treating the textile at low temperature, to have a simple producing process and to reduce production costs. CONSTITUTION: The method for manufacturing the bathochromic polyester textile is as follows: weight-reducing modified polyester fiber or polyester textile having the modified polyester fiber partly with a cold-pad-batch method. On weight-reducing, an alkali aqueous solution contains at least 0.5g/l of a surfactant. Alkali-treating conditions are 10-53% of alkali concentration, 20-70deg.C of temperature and 1-24hours of treatment time.
