PURPOSE: A plasma display panel is provided to reduce the output amount of electromagnetic interference waves because current directions flowing in X-Y electrode lines and black lines are opposite to each other by recurrent points. CONSTITUTION: X and Y electrode line pairs are formed to be parallel to each other on a rear surface of a front substrate(20). Address electrode lines(AR1,..ABm) are formed to be orthogonal to the X, Y electrode lines(X1,...,Xn;Y1,...,Yn) on a front surface of a rear substrate(23) separated from the front substrate. Discharge cells are defined on respective cross points of the electrode lines and the address electrode lines. The X electrode lines are returned from opposite sides of X drive positions(Dx) to which their drive signals are input, and are extended to points right before the X drive positions. The Y electrode lines are returned from opposite sides of Y drive positions(Dy) to which their drive signals are input, and are extended to points right before the Y drive positions.
