PURPOSE: Provided are a vacuum dehydrator, which makes the operation of a vacuum pump smooth and increases dehydration efficiency therefore it can obtain a transparent resin excellent in properties, and a dehydration method using the vacuum-dehydrating apparatus. CONSTITUTION: The vacuum dehydrator comprises a droplet generator capable of spray-injecting a defoaming agent into the front of a tray, wherein the droplet generator is selected from the group consisting of a press type nozzle, an air current type nozzle, a low pressure filter droplet generator, and an ultrasonic droplet generator, and the defoaming agent is at least one selected from the group consisting of octyl alcohol, cyclohexanol, C6-C16 high alcohol ethylene glycol, a nonionic surfactant, and a silicon defoaming agent. And the dehydration method comprises the step of dehydrating slurry generated from a resin-producing process by an emulsion-polymerization, by using the vacuum dehydrator.
