PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device is provided not to display the luminance lines in a longitudinal string shape during the applying of power by arranging the counter electrode voltage line in the shielding portion. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display device includes a plurality of signal lines and scan lines, a display device, a liquid crystal capacitor and an auxiliary capacitor, a plurality of signal line driving circuits, a plurality of scan line driving circuits(4), a liquid crystal capacitor and an auxiliary capacitor, an auxiliary capacitor power line and an auxiliary capacitor power line voltage control circuit. The signal lines and scan lines are formed on the insulation substrate in a first and a second directions. The display device forms on each cross-section of the signal lines and the scan lines. The liquid crystal capacitor and an auxiliary capacitor accumulates the charges through the display device. The signal line driving circuits drives the signal lines and the scan line driving circuits drives the scan lines. The liquid crystal capacitor and an auxiliary capacitor accumulates the charge in response to the voltage of the signal lines. The auxiliary capacitor power line is connected to one end of the auxiliary capacitor in common arranged in the second direction. And, the auxiliary capacitor power line voltage control circuit controls the voltage of the auxiliary capacitor power line with matching the period to drive the liquid crystal capacitor and the auxiliary capacitor in reverse polarity.
