PURPOSE: A media resource addressing method and system is provided to standardize position data of media resources according to the MPEG-21 file format while making the MPEG-21 format file interoperable with an MPEG-4 format file. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises several steps. A corresponding media resource is extracted according to reference data of the media resource recorded at a DID(Digital Item Declaration)(S303). The extracted media resource is stored at a media data area(S304). Standard position data of the media resource is generated(S306). The generated standard position data is stored at a meta data area, and the meta data area and the media data area are filed(S307).
