<p>Fibres pass from feed rolls through a pivoted fibre feed tube and through a fibre duct, in a closure member for the spinning rotor, with which the feed tube registers. The fibres are spun in the rotor and continuously withdrawn as an end of yarn through a central delivery duct in the closure member. A sensor detects on and break of yarn passing from the rotor and actuates an electromagnetic actuator to pivot the fibre feed tube away from the fibre feed duct to cutt off supply of fibres to the rotor. Pref. when an end break occurs the fibre feed tube feeds fibres into an exhaust duct, and in this posn a plate carried by the fibre feed tube blocks off the fibre inlet duct.</p> |
