PURPOSE: A device for controlling a backlight unit is provided to prevent noise and flickering by synchronizing the backlight unit with operation of a TFT-LCD. CONSTITUTION: A power supply part(80) receives driving power source of a backlight unit(50) providing light source at the rear of a TFT-LCD(Thin Film Transistor-Liquid Crystal Display)(90). An inverter part(60) outputs a driving signal for driving the backlight unit according to driving power source supplied from the power supply part. A microcomputer(70) changes the driving signal output from the inverter part to be synchronized with operation of the TFT-LCD so that the microcomputer controls brightness of light emitted from the backlight unit.
