FOCUSING WAVEGUIDE GRATING COUPLER AND OPTICAL PICKUP HEAD USING THE SAME, ESPECIALLY MANUFACTURING HIGH EFFICIENCY OUTPUT COUPLER BY UTILIZING SINGLE BEAM COUPLER

PURPOSE: A focusing waveguide grating coupler and an optical pickup head using the same are provided to relatively simplify the design of grating by independently manufacturing the grating for outputting the output beam from the waveguide mode. CONSTITUTION: A focusing waveguide grating coupler includes a waveguide, a grating coupler(113) and a Fresnel grating lens(128). The waveguide is provided with a substrate(111) and a core layer(112). The grating coupler couples the light beam inputted through the waveguide to the substrate. And, the Fresnel grating lens diffracts the light beam coupled from the grating coupler to one focusing point.
