PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display is provided to reduce material cost while reducing the number of assembling processes by removing a top chassis for fixing a display unit at a container. CONSTITUTION: A display unit(300) displays a picture. A backlight unit(400) provides light to the display unit. A container(500) contains the display unit and the backlight unit. The container has first to fourth sides, an upper side connected with the first to fourth sides, having an aperture for exposing an effective display area, and a bottom side connected with the first to fourth sides, facing the upper side. An insertion port is formed at the first side for inserting the display unit into the container.
