PURPOSE: A system for collecting the vehicle information and a method for collecting the vehicle information are provided to usefully utilize the corresponding vehicle information by using a smart card reader. CONSTITUTION: A system for collecting the vehicle information includes a smart card(13) and a smart card control unit(15). The smart card control unit collects the vehicle information from at least one electronic control unit and at least one sensor of the vehicle. And, the smart card control unit records the collected vehicle information on the smart card through a predetermined communication protocol.
