PURPOSE: A color wheel and an image display system provided with the same are provided to overcome the deterioration of color definition of the image generated at the boundary by forming the white region capable of transmitting the white light. CONSTITUTION: An image display system provided with a color wheel includes a lamp(310), a collimator lens(320), a color wheel(200), a light pipe(340), a controller(350), a signal processing unit(360), a small size display(370), a prism(380) and a projection lens(390). The collimator lens outputs the white light from the lamp with making the white light parallel. The color wheel sequentially forms the first, the second and the third lights by selectively passing a first, a second and a third colors. The light pipe makes the first to the third lights passing through the lens uniform in its illumination by a controller(350). The signal processing unit divides the image signal inputted from outside into a plurality of image signals for each color and synchronizes with the first to the third lights passing through the light pipe. And, the small size display displays the first to the third lights together with the image signals for each color.
