Liquid preservative is sprayed through at least one adjustable aperture nozle on to the grain as it passes along a conveyor from the silo. The pressure side of a pump e.g. centrifugal or roller pump with built-in bypass or the like, is connected via a volume regulator or pressure reducer via a flow meter to the nozzle feed pipe(s). This flow meter uses electrical contacts or a float controlled photoelectric device to switch on/off the conveyor drive and/or pump(s) and/or to trigger an alarm circuit if the flow rate deviates from the desired value. |
