The system has a terminal (TER) connected to a time server via a communication network and a transmitter/receiver forming an interface device. The terminal and the server have internal clocks (Ckt, Cks), respectively driven by a time controller. The device has a synchronization unit for synchronizing the clocks. The synchronization unit has an update unit to place the clock of the terminal in a current state of that of the server. An independent claim is also included for a process of transmission of data between a terminal and a time server.
