PURPOSE: A method for setting a time between frames of an animated GIF(Graphics Interchange Format) image is provided to extract a field where a time interval is set between frames from a header part of an animated GIF image, and to reset the time interval between the frames, thereby reducing an overhead of a terminal. CONSTITUTION: A mobile communication terminal extracts a field for a time interval between frames included in a header part of an animated GIF image. The terminal sets the extracted time value as a new time value inputted by a user. The terminal stores the set time value in the extracted field for the time interval between the frames. The terminal repeats the process until a final frame.
