PURPOSE: A paper feeder of an image formation device and a paper feeding method are provided to reduce the generation of an overlapped feeding by rotating a separation roller in a reverse direction for an appropriate time. CONSTITUTION: A pick-up roller(21) approaches and separates from paper loaded in a paper feeding stacker(3). A separating unit(10) supplies the paper picked up in the pick-up roller by separating one by one. A feeding roller(31) feeds the supplied paper from the separation unit toward a paper distribution stacker. A swing gear unit(51) separates and approaches the pick-up roller to the paper feeding stacker and restricts the pick-up of the paper based on the entrance and the passage of the paper against the feeding roller. Thereby, the feeding interval of the paper is maintained regularly.
