The lifting device for a protection bar (A) comprises two sets of arms for the assembly of the protection bar under the vehicle. Each of the sets of arms comprises a first part (B1,C1) and a second part (B2,C2). The first part of each assembly arm is fixed to the chassis and comprises reception and guide means for the second corresponding part of the assembly arm so as to enable the displacement of the protection bar from a deployed position to a retracted position and vice versa. Each of the second parts are received in the first corresponding part and fixed by the other of its ends to the protection bar. The protection part moves a long a curved trajectory.
