PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas-barrier film being a film for an electrode substrate used for a liquid crystal display element, an electroluminescent display element, a touch panel element or the like, characterized by improving, in particular, its gas barrier property and chemical resistance, and having a transparent electrode layer. SOLUTION: This gas-barrier film is so structured that a metal oxide thin film layer having at least a gas barrier property and a gas-barrier coating layer are sequentially stacked on at least one surface of a transparent plastic film, and the transparent electrode layer is stacked on the gas-barrier coating layer.
