PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of automatically or manually perfectly erasing data in a storage medium so that the data cannot be restored. SOLUTION: Whether a memory control is under operation or not is determined in a set time (S10), and when it is not operated, dummy data are expanded on the memory (S11). The dummy data are transferred to a designated area on a hard disk (S12). The size on the memory is then compared with the size of the hard disk (S13), and when the size of the hard disk is larger, the procedure is returned again to step 12, and performed until the size on the memory become equal to or larger than the size of the hard disk. In S12, a control part (CPU) 10 writes all-white (or all-black) data in the designated area of the memory or in the whole area of the memory, and internally issues a pseudo job that image data are inputted to the designated area of the memory or to the all area of the memory.
