PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-performance conductive endless belt having high strength, in particular, favorable bending durability and excellent creep resistance, dimensional stability and heat resistance, and to provide an image forming apparatus using the belt. SOLUTION: The conductive endless belt is used for transfer and transport of a tandem system in which the belt is driven to circulate by a driving member and transports a recording medium held by electrostatic attraction to four kinds of image forming bodies and each of the toner images is sequentially transferred to the recording medium. Or, the conductive endless belt is used for an intermediate transfer member which is installed between the image forming body and the recording medium and driven to circulate by a driving member and which transfers a toner image formed on the surface of the image forming body to the belt surface to temporarily hold the image and further transfers the image to the recording medium. The belt comprises, as the base material, modified polyphenylene oxide (PPO), a polymer alloy of modified PPO and another thermoplastic resin, or a polymer blend of modified PPO and another thermoplastic resin.
