PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot water supply device for minimizing inconveniences due to water leakage or flow-out at starting/restarting the use even when a backflow preventing valve to be automatically changed over into an opened condition when drained is frozen and fixed as it remains opened. SOLUTION: At starting filling hot water at the first time after power supply (YES-S1), if an outside temperature is such a temperature (lower than 5°C) as to keep a freezing condition (YES-S2), the flow rate of hot water to be filled is limited to a considerably smaller set limiting flow rate value (5L/min) (S4) until the accumulated amount of filled hot water attains 10L (YES-S3). The flow rate of hot water to be filled at the second time is also limited until the accumulated amount of filled hot water attains 10L even after the filling of hot water is completed at the first time. When the outside temperature is such a temperature as to melt freezing (NO-S2) or if the accumulated amount of filled hot water attains a set accumulated amount (NO-S3), the flow rate of hot water to be filled is set as a normal flow rate value (S6).
