PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cover body for a side ditch in which an insert grating excellent in rain water draining capacity is embedded, a grating body is securely retained in a retaining frame, clogs such as refuse, pebbles can be cleaned away with ease, grating body can be easily exchanged, the cover body can be simply/easily manufactured, and the insert grating can be securely embedded by the cover body. SOLUTION: The insert grating 3 is constituted of the grating body 6, and a retaining frame 7 retaining the peripheral side face and the bottom face. The grating body is substantially rectangular, The under face in the sectional view is opened and U-shaped three dimensional form. In the upper face, many rain water stream holes 8 are formed, a plurality of protrusions 11 are formed at the peripheral side face of the grating body, a plurality of recessed holes 12 engaging with the protrusions are formed at the inner peripheral face of the retaining frame, the grating body is fixedly retained by the retaining frame.
