PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for high-speed floatation separation which can perform the very high-speed flotation separation of material to be removed by flocculation, such as suspended particles, phosphorus, and COD components, in various raw waters such as river water, lake and marsh water, wastewater, and sewage by simple operation, and dispenses with an air compressor and an air dissolving system. SOLUTION: In the high-speed floatation separation method, at least buoyant particles and a polymer coagulant are added to the raw water to agitate them, and after causing the flocs of the material to be removed to stick onto the surfaces of the buoyant particles, they are made to float and separated by a floatation separation part. In this method, treated water is taken out from the bottom of the floatation separation part as separated water, and buoyant particle groups onto which the flocs stuck and which is floating on the water surface of the floatation separation part are dropped down to an SS stripping tank located lower than the uppermost surface of the layer. After suspending the SS stripped from the buoyant particles by the SS stripping tank in water and discharging them to the outside of a system, washed buoyant particles are returned to a coagulant sticking tank by a head.
