Converting machines give rise to polluted air which must be removed with the aid of fans and filters. The present invention aims at such removal but in such a way that the servicing interval is greatly extended by the use of a filter unit consisting of a number of part-filters arranged one after the other and consisting of pleated fibre mats, the various mats having different filtering properties.
