A liquid crystal display device is characterized in that liquid crystals are held between a pair of circuit boards and a spacer (24) is interposed between the boards to maintain a spacing between the boards, and the spacer (24) has a first layer (24a) laid on a circuit board and a second layer (24b) provided on the first layer (24a) so as to cross, in a plan view, the first layer (24a).
