<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereoscopic image display device which eliminates chromatic aberration and prevents a viewing area from becoming small in a hybrid screen obtained by combining a hologram with a lens. <P>SOLUTION: The stereoscopic image display device is provided with a hologram 14 wherein virtual image patterns 26 corresponding to real image patterns imaged in a viewing area are recorded, a plurality of projectors 10, a Fresnel lens 18, and a prism 16. The plurality of projectors 10 radiate illuminating light for reproducing toward the hologram 14 to reproduce the virtual image patterns 26 recorded in the hologram 14. The Fresnel lens 18 condenses light of reproduced virtual image patterns 26 and images light of real image patterns 24 corresponding to virtual image patterns 26 respectively in viewing areas which exist on lines parallel with the hologram surface and in different places. The prism 16 compensates wavelength dispersion that light of real image patterns 24 is imaged in a dispersed condition dependently upon wavelengths, in each viewing area to deflect the light so that light of real image patterns 24 is imaged with one point as the center independently of wavelengths. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
