<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an orthogonal system optical pickup device in which adjacent bits on data tracks are detected with high resolution, low cost is realized by eliminating the needs for a cylindrical lens and a meniscus lens, and the tracking error signals generated by a differential push-pull method are handled. <P>SOLUTION: The optical pickup device is provided with an optical system in which a laser having three beams are guided along a prescribed path, converged on a recording surface of an optical disk D and the reflected light beams from the recording surface are guided back by the same path. In the path of the reflected beams between a beam splitter 14 and an optical sensor 16, a transparent flat plate 15 is arranged and fixed so that its normal is tilted 45° with respect to the optical axis of the reflected light beams and the components of the normal, that are vertical to the optical axis, are rotated 45°from the horizontal direction centered around the optical axis. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
