摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magneto-optical recording/reproducing device capable of obtaining good erasing or recording performance by preventing the incidence of an undesired return light from a magneto-optical recording medium to a semiconductor laser during the erasing or recording of information which needs a high output especially. <P>SOLUTION: This magneto-optical recording/reproducing device reproduces information by applying a laser beam from a semiconductor laser 11 through a two-way optical path separation element 13 and an objective lens 22 to a magneto-optical recording medium 4 to erase or record information, and receives a return light from the magneto-optical recording medium 4 separated by the two-way optical path separation element 13 by light receiving means 19 and 20 to reproduce the information. A polarize light switching means 15 is arranged between the two-way optical path separation element 13 and the objective lens 22 to selectively switch the polarized state of the laser beam applied to the magneto-optical recording medium 4. During information erasing or recording, the switching of the polarized state is turned ON by control means 35, 36 and 38 to prevent the return of the return light from the magneto-optical recording medium 4 through the two-way optical path separation element 13 to the semiconductor laser 11. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
