<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display in which a base part of a lamp holder provided on a reflection plate for supporting tubular lamps is not projected on a liquid crystal panel as a shadow. <P>SOLUTION: An illuminator 14 illuminating the liquid crystal panel 2 from the rear surface thereof is provided with the lamp holder 15 for holding the plurality of tubular lamps 7 for illumination and the lamp holder 15 has an inclination surface 19 at a base 16 extended in the direction orthogonal to the longitudinal direction of the tubular lamps 7. The inclination surface 19 is formed so as to be orthogonal to the longitudinal direction of the tubular lamps 7 and to be inclined toward the liquid crystal panel 2, the inclination surface 19 reflects light from the tubular lamps in the direction of the liquid crystal panel 2 and thereby, the shadow of the base 16 is not projected on the liquid crystal panel 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
