PACKET TRANSFER CONTROLLER, TRANSMISSION DEVICE, COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, AND PACKET TRANSFER CONTROL METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packet transfer controller for shortening a detecting time of timeout while suppressing a decrease in the performance of a communication system.

SOLUTION: A packet transfer controller 14a transmits to a sending destination a request packet including a packer number and an identification number stored in a packet management table 24 with a correlation. In the sending destination, a ply packet including the same packet number and the same identification number as the received request packet is returned to the packet transfer controller 14a. When detecting the timeout, the packet transfer controller 14a changes the identification number in the packet management table 24. A comparator 25 determines in the packet management table 24 whether the identification number in a correlation with the packet number included in the received reply packet agrees with the identification number included in the received replay packet or not.
