PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the surface smoothness of a molded product and to perform required patterning without wasting a pattern material. SOLUTION: In a method for molding a patterned molded product by press-molding a polyester type SMC material, the pattern material of the same kind as the SMC material different in color is sprinkled over the product surface side of a press mold before the SMC material is placed to be press-molded.
