PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To establish a method for manufacturing an array on a metal substrate without damaging a metal film easily and inexpensively. SOLUTION: A solution containing a substance to be immobilized is retained by a pin, the pin, where the area of a tip figure is at least 0.01 mm<SP>2</SP>, is brought into contact with the substrate, and then the solution is spotted onto a metal substrate chip, thus manufacturing the array. Preferably, an ambient temperature is maintained at least at 70%, thus preventing a spot from drying and maintaining the activity of biomolecules.
