PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera with such thickness and strength that the camera can be contained in e.g., a breast pocket of a dress shirt or a hip pocket of jeans pants or the like and causing no sense of incongruity when the electronic camera is contained in the pocket or a handbag. SOLUTION: An enclosure of an operation section is constituted of upper and lower covers, a memory slot is arranged in one side of a main board supported by a board support unit provided in one corner or more in the covers, a flat battery container is arranged in the other side, a display apparatus is arranged in the memory slot of the main board, and a control board of the imaging section is arranged in the side of the battery container to make the electronic camera thin.
