PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image scanner for correcting the nonuniformity of reception sensitivity in each channel region, and to provide an image forming apparatus, and a signal correction method. SOLUTION: The image scanner 2 includes variable amplification rate amplifier parts 61 for independently amplifying each one of image signals S<SB>1</SB>-S<SB>4</SB>to be outputted from the respective channel regions Ch1-Ch4 of a photoelectric conversion part 25, so as to allow the signals to reach predetermined target values; and a control part 65 for outputting to each variable amplification rate amplifier part 61 a control instruction to correct the amplification rate of each variable amplification rate amplifier part, so as to relatively equalize the output image signals in largeness at the end parts of the adjacent channel regions.
