PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive circuit for preventing breakdown of an output transistor due to an excessive current when short-circuit breakdown is generated in a load. SOLUTION: The drive circuit for applying a current to the other terminal 36 from one terminal 35 via a load RL comprises current detecting means Q101 to Q104, R101, Q201 to Q204, R201 for detecting the current flowing into the other terminal and current limiting means Q105, Q106, R102, R103, Q205, Q206, R202, R203 for limiting the output currents of the first transistors Q5, Q7 for outputting the currents respectively from a pair of terminals 35, 36 when the detected current of the current detecting means exceeds the preset value.
