PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray detector for precisely calibrating an X-ray spectroscope, and to provide a method for calibrating the X-ray spectroscope used for the X-ray detector. SOLUTION: In the X-ray detector for generating signals by capturing and amplifying electrons that are discharged, when radiation is absorbed by gas, a collecting electrode for capturing electrons is divided into at least two, the radiation enters along the collecting electrode, and the collecting electrode at an incidence side is shorter than that at the rear side in the travelling direction of the radiation to the collecting electrode on the incidence side.
