摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrially advantageous method whereby the sulfur content in gasoline is efficiently decreased to 50 mass ppm or lower in producing gasoline by catalytic cracking of a heavy oil using a FCC apparatus. SOLUTION: In decomposing a heavy oil with a FCC apparatus, desulfurization and decomposition reaction are simultaneously conducted by using a mixed catalyst which comprises (A) 2-30 mass% FCC catalyst (containing no zinc oxide) having an acid amount of 20-400μmol/g, a macropore surface area of 50-150 m<SP>2</SP>/g, and an amount of carried vanadium and/or nickel of 0.3-1.5 mass% and having a desulfurization function and (B) 98-70 mass% FCC equilibrium catalyst having an amount of accumulated vanadium and/or nickel of 500-15,000 ppm.
