A door frame for accommodating itself to different thicknesses of wall surrounding a door aperture is formed of two frame members 1, 2. The member 1 being of L-section, the shorter arm 11 of which engages one major face 3' of the aperture surround wall 3 the other member 2 being a flat plate engaging the opposite major wall face 3" and the longer arm 14 of the member 1 covering the inner surface of the aperture and a plurality of spaced pairs of fittings which fittings of a pair 6, 7 are of metal or plastics and are adapted to interengage with each other, one of the fittings, e.g. 6 being secured to the longer arm 11 of the member 1 and the other 7 of the fittings of a pair being secured to the plate 2, so that when the frame members 1 and 2 are brought together the fittings 6, 7 interengage as shown and are locked permanently by interengaging teeth on the two fittings. The member 1 has a kink 13 to provide a space between the member 1 and the inner surface 3a of the aperture, which space is filled as by a spray gun with foam plastics, e.g. hardening foam of polyurethane which adheres to the surface 3a and the member 1. The members 1 and 2 may be of comminuted fibrous materials, e.g. wood chips with plastics binding agent and compressed or may be entirely of wood.</p> |
