<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely repair a gun barrel having damage in coatings and damage caused by corrosion by a simple and inexpensive method, without weakening the important gun barrel. <P>SOLUTION: For example, a proper coating material including chrome is stuck to a coating damage and/or corrosion damage area 3 existing on an inside surface of the gun barrel 1 by buildup welding. Postprocessing is mechanically performed when necessary. Buildup is performed by a laser buildup welding or plasma buildup welding of a buildup welding laser.
