<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous secondary battery with high stability, high capacity, and high cycle characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: The nonaqueous secondary battery comprises a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a separator, and a nonaqueous electrolyte containing a lithium salt, and the positive electrode contains a lithium nickel composite oxide represented by composition formula Li<SB>a</SB>Ni<SB>b</SB>Co<SB>c</SB>Al<SB>d</SB>O<SB>2</SB>, and at least natural graphite having a specific surface area by a BET process of 100 m<SP>2</SP>/g or more, and the negative electrode contains polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon manufactured by heat reaction of a raw material containing pitch as a main component, having an atomic ratio of hydrogen/carbon (H/C) of 0.05-0.35, and a specific surface area by a BET process of 50 m<SP>2</SP>/g or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
