<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a step for a bed being easy to be stored and having superior stability and sanitation. <P>SOLUTION: A pair of guides 5 are fixed to the lower part of a bed body and a step part 1 is formed by extending a tread plate 2 over a pair of supports 3a and 3b. The supports 3a and 3b are fixed with support members 4a and 4b respectively. The respective support members 4a and 4b are provided with first pins 8 toward the tread part and second pins 9 in a side separated therefrom, and the guides 5 are provided with first and second guide holes 6 and 7 to be engaged with the first and the second pins respectively. The first and the second pins 8 and 9 move along lateral portions 6a and 7a of the first and second guide holes. This step is also provided with vertical portions 6b downward extending from the position of the tread part side of the lateral portions 6a, and vertical portions 7b upward extending from the position of the side separated from the tread part of the lateral parts 7a.
