DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DECODING DYNAMIC IMAGE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the speed of coding processing without greatly degrading image quality in a dynamic image coding system which uses a motion compensated prediction (MC) and a discrete cosine transform (DCT).

SOLUTION: The dynamic image decoding device decodes and reproduces data of a dynamic image which has been coded by the dynamic image coding system using the compensated prediction and discrete cosine transform. The device has a filtering means of implementing post filtering processing on a decoded image signal, and a means of controlling implementation of post filtering processing using the filtering means for the decoded image signal according to the quantized width used in quantization processing when the image is coded.
