摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a print data processor which can promptly release a client computer from transmission processing of print data without sacrificing printing speed. <P>SOLUTION: The processor receives data with a high-speed reception mode when the amount of data stored in a receiving buffer 20 is small, and switches the mode to a low-speed reception mode when the amount of data exceeds the second threshold 22. When the receiving buffer 20 becomes full, write processing is started in which the data stored in the receiving buffer 20 is saved in an auxiliary memory 14. If the amount of the data stored in the receiving buffer 20 falls below the third threshold 23 before finishing the write processing, the write processing is canceled and the data saved in the auxiliary memory is deleted. Then the transmission with the low-speed reception mode is restarted.
