PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for applying an insulating coating to an electrode with a length of several hundreds mm used for fine hole electrochemical machining. SOLUTION: This insulating coating device for an electrode used for fine hole electrochemical machining is provided with a container holding a slurry coating liquid, a coating liquid scraping die having a scraping hole with an inside diameter allowing insertion of the electrode to be coated, a die holding means freely holding the die in the vicinity of a liquid face, a guide means guiding the electrode to be coated toward the scraping hole, and an electrode handling means inserting the lower end of the electrode to be coated to the scraping hole of the die along the guide means, pulling out the electrode from the coating liquid after immersing the electrode into the coating liquid to the predetermined depth and pulling out the electrode from the die.
