PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep a distance between a paper sheet and an information acquisition means constant so as to accurately acquire information about the carried paper sheet. SOLUTION: This paper sheet carrier has: a first guidance means and a second guidance means provided at a prescribed interval such that the guidance means constitutes a carrying space for the paper sheet, guiding the paper sheet into the carrying space; an information acquisition means provided oppositely adjacently to the carrying space of the first guidance means or the second guidance means, acquiring the information about the paper sheet; and a first carrying means and a second carrying means provided such that the carrying means pinch the information acquisition means, carrying the paper sheet in the carrying space. Pinching direction lines of the paper sheet in the ends on the information acquisition means side of the respective first carrying means and second carrying means have slant angles opposite to each other.
