PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrially operable method for efficiently and industrially advantageously isolating 4-pyridinethiols from a liquid mixture in which they are mixed with inorganic compounds and a solvent. SOLUTION: This method for isolating 4-pyridinethiols from their mixture containing inorganic compounds together with the solvent comprises mixing the mixture with a liquid compound which has a boiling point higher than that of the solvent and does not substantially dissolve the inorganic compounds, but dissolves 4-pyridinethiols, distilling the solvent from the resulting mixture and then removing the precipitated inorganic compound by filtration.
