PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-repellent film-forming composition that has good coating workability and exhibits water repellency over a prolonged period of time and to provide a coating method using the water-repellent film-forming composition. SOLUTION: The water-repellent film-forming composition contains an emulsion (A) having an alkylalkoxysilane (a), an organopolysiloxane (b) having an alkoxy group and an emulsifier (c) as the active components, and an organic solvent (B) having a water solubility of 5% or more and has a nonvolatile content in a range of 2-50 %. It is preferable that the emulsion (A) further comprises an alkoxysilane (d1) having an aminoalkyl group and/or an organopolysiloxane (d2) having an aminoalkyl group. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
