PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyphenylene sulfide material having homogeneous composition, capable of corresponding to various shapes such as a fine component and a thin film, and having≥260°C HDT. SOLUTION: The polyphenylene sulfide composite material is obtained by subjecting a polyphenylene sulfide containing≥15% crystalline inorganic fine particles having≤3μm average particle diameter by volume fraction to heat treatment, and has≥263°C melting start temperature caused by the polyphenylene sulfide crystal by differential calorimetry. The method for producing the composite material comprises mixing the crystalline inorganic fine particles having≤3μm particle diameters with the polyphenylene sulfide, molding the resultant mixture, and subjecting the molded product to the heat treatment at 250-300°C for≥2 hr.
