AQUEOUS EMULSION OF ORGANIC PEROXIDE AND POLYMERIZATION INITIATOR FOR EMULSION POLYMERIZATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic peroxide aqueous emulsion stable in storage and in an aqueous dilution, its manufacturing process and a polymerization initiator for emulsion polymerization by which emulsion polymerization is smoothly proceeded and a polymer having favorable physical properties is obtained. SOLUTION: The organic peroxide aqueous emulsion is an aqueous emulsion whose particle has a size of 0.1-10μm, oil phase is an organic peroxide liquid at 10°C and emulsifier is an nonionic surfactant and is manufactured by the steps (1) and (2). Step (1): a pre-emulsifying step in which the nonionic surfactant is added to an aqueous medium and the mixture is emulsified; step (2): an emulsifying step in which the organic peroxide is added to the nonionic surfactant emulsion obtained by the pre-emulsifying step and the mixture is emulsified.
