PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging container having an article storage part formed by overlapping two sheet bodies, which can surely keep an article fixed in the storage part without employing an excessive structure such as a retaining rib for keeping the article in the article storage part. SOLUTION: The packaging container 1 has the article storage part formed by overlapping the two sheet bodies 2 and 3 equipped with article storage recesses 4 and 5, is equipped with a fitting protruding frame 7 along the periphery of the article storage recess 4 of the sheet body 2 and a fitting recessed frame 8 to be fitted with the protruding frame 7 on the sheet body 3, and is formed so that the inner surface 7a of the protruding frame 7 is in tight contact with the outer surface (a) of the article A to be stored in the article storage part. Since the inner surface 7a of the frame 7 formed along the periphery of the storage part comes into tight contact with the outer surface (a) of the article A stored in the storage part, the article A can be surely retained in the article storage part without employing an excessive structure such as the retaining rib for keeping the article A in the storage part.
